Office Snack Ideas For People Who Are Too Busy To Eat

We understand that life is busy, sometimes too busy to eat. But, skipping meals is very unhealthy and leads to overeating later in the day. Eating three healthy, balanced meals is very important- and we believe that snacking is healthy too! Unfortunately, the typical office snacks are not very healthy. Sure, the vending machine is convenient but the foods in the vending machine are full of sugars and preservatives. These sugars and preservatives will ultimately leave you in a sugar crash- making the rest of your work day difficult to get through. Luckily for you, we have compiled a list of office snack ideas for people who are too busy to eat.

Office Snack Ideas For People Who Are Too Busy To Eat

Protein Bars

We have to start out with an obvious favorite choice of ours- protein bars! They are easy to stash in your desk and give you a healthy boost of energy. Remember, not all protein bars are made equal, some of the ones that claim they are “healthy” are full of sugar, which will result in a sugar crash. Our Too Busy To Eat protein bars are healthy because they are gluten free, vegan, and made with grass fed whey, we have Vanilla Coconut, Double Chocolate Chip, and Cookie Dough.

String Cheese

I don’t know about you but string cheese was a childhood favorite of mine and even know as an adult I love how healthy it is for you. String cheese makes the perfect office snack because it is low in calories and high in protein. A crucial factor that separates the good from the bad when it comes to string cheese is how it strings. The best string cheese can string as fine as hair, as well as the stretchier the cheese the better!

Nuts are a great snack that gives you brain power. They are low in carbohydrates and high in protein so they won’t slow you down and will keep you satisfied until your next meal. The best, healthiest, nuts are almonds, walnuts, cashews, pecans, and pistachios.

Hummus is the perfect office snack idea because it is healthy and delicious! It is made with chickpeas, olive oil, lemon, garlic, and tahini. Chickpeas are full of protein and fiber, meaning that they will keep you full and satisfied until your next meal. The best part of hummus is how diverse it is. You can snack on it with pretzels, carrots, celery, or even add it to a sandwich.

Coconut Oil

It may sound a little odd, but if you are literally too busy to eat, try a tablespoon of organic coconut oil. Along with the good boost of energy you will get from eating it, coconut oil has incredible health benefits. It improves your memory and brain function, your digestion, skin issues, gum disease, and even helps with weight loss. If eating just coconut oil is a little much for you, try adding in some mini dark chocolate chips!

Ants On A Log

Going back to our days in Pre-K, ants on a log (celery with peanut butter and raisins) are a perfect office snack idea! Celery is high in fiber and potassium and has a satisfying crunch. Peanut butter is filling, a good source of vitamin E, protein, and healthy fats. Raisins are just grapes that were dried in the sun- nothing gets better than that! The best part about ants on a log as an office snack is it will give you a moment of nostalgia- providing you a little break from your adult duties.

Hard Boiled Egg

Eggs are healthy for so many reasons. They are an excellent source of protein and are packed with essential vitamins and minerals such as potassium, iron, zinc, and vitamin E- all that for under 78 calories! A hard boiled egg is a food that fuels your body and controls hunger. The only downside is it might be a little smelly- it’s best to eat this one in the breakroom.

Natural Jerky

Natural jerky is full of protein, you just have to be mindful of the kind of jerky you are buying. Go for natural jerky that is made from grass-fed beef and is low in sodium and contains preservatives.

Apples and Almond Butter

Crunchy and delicious, apples have many health promoting and disease preventing properties. Apples are low in calories, rich in dietary fiber, a good source of B-complex vitamins, and full of vitamin-C. Almond butter contains a significant amount of protein, fiber, calcium, potassium, and vitamin E. Almond butter is low in saturated fat and full of healthy fats making it a great heart-healthy snack. Combining apples and almond butter is a match made in heaven! Don’t forget the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away!”.

Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt has double the protein and half the carbs and sodium as regular yogurt. It is packed with probiotics which aid your digestive system and make your intestines healthy. Adding berries or almonds on top just boosts the health and tastiness factor. Greek yogurt is one of those snacks that is delicious and contradicts the saying “if it tastes good, it can’t possibly be good for you!”.
